Roubo Dining Table
Roubo Dining Table
Share
This beefy dining table design is based on the design of a joiners workbench made famous by 18th century woodworker André Jacob Roubo. The unique double through tenons of the leg joinery accent the end grain of the timber in the table top. Rugged and elegant in its simplicity this table top will hold up for generations whether you are dining or dancing on top of it. (Shown in White Oak)

Materials
We use locally sustainably sourced domestic hardwoods from small mills in southeastern Wisconsin. At time of writing that means Oak, Walnut, and Ash. That's it. No plywood no, particle board, no epoxy, no fillers preservatives or high fructose corn syrup.
Joinery
Why not just screw this all together?
All Templeton pieces are designed with joinery in mind first and foremost. They are built using time tested joinery techniques that honor the material being used to craft pieces that will outlast us. Wood is an incredible, beautiful , strong and sustainable material. It's a living material that breathes and expands and absorbs carbon throughout its life, long after the life of the tree from which it was harvested is over. Very simply, well fit full wood joinery allows the joined pieces to expand and contract together as seasons change leaving the resulting joint strong throughout the years.
Finishes
All our pieces are finished with Rubio Monocoat Oil 2c plus. A 0% VOC, plant-based, hardwax oil wood finish.
